Perfect Writing Space

You get to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?

I have written about this before.

New Year. . . New Look. . .

It really had not changed all that much.

I want L shape desk. I want comfy computer chair.

On the walls, I would put my art.

I need a printer as I like to print out and edit with red pen.

I would also want book shelves and file cabinets..

I would want a space for a future podcast.

My Ideal day

I wake up by 10 am. “Let’s make a Deal” is playing in the background. I make fresh coffee and egg sandwiches.

I write my daily blogs while enjoying breaking and listening to game shows.

By lunch, we go out get a quick bite and get errands and shopping done. (I love to shop, but on days I’m not doing errands, I will organize notes, research topics for my writings, clean a room, or write more. I fit in writing whenever I can.)

We get home and together make a fun dinner. . . Cheese shrimp pasta or steak fajitas.

Then we clean up together and enjoy down time.

My down time is chatting with online friends, listening to music and working on my short stories, blogs, and novels.

Read a bit before going to bed.

Note: For those who say, I write too much, then I say you don’t know me. (And you probably never truly understand me.)

A day without writing, is unproductive say to me.

My computer, eh.

I’ve posted about my computer before- my old computer (which I briefly shared with my mom) accidentally fell out of the window and the hinge broke and I can see the wires. I’m afraid to plug it in since the internal wires are exposed, so I am not sure how broken my old computer is. . .

However my dad got me a refurbished computer for Xmas (2015).  However my step mom saw a spark when I plugged it in and made me get rid of my cord. (Which it is a very hard cord to find.)

It took me over 15 months to find a new cord and now the used computer.

It just really frustrates me as all I want to do it is turn on my computer, plug my headset in, and write while listening to music. But I can’t. . . grrrrr.

I have to hand write all of my notes, and Nanowrimo project.

What my Muses look like

What my Muses looks like. . . .

Rebekah has sandy blond hair, piercing blue eyes.  She has a flat stomach but curvy breasts and hips. With the right dress you can see the hour glass shape. Her back and legs are solid muscle, toned but not bulging. She loves to wear leggings, sport bras when working out, but jeans and sweaters at business meetings.

Just under Rebekah’s office we have a gym with exercise bikes, weights, treadmills, yoga area, and hot tub. It helps my muses stay in shape and focus.

Jack has sparkling blue eyes, spiking light brown hair, and very nice, inviting smile. He sometime will have a rugged look; with a 5 o’clock shadow. He barely works, but has a fast metabolism which helps him easily keep a 6 pack.  He usually wears tank tops and shorts, but the other muses like him when he is just in a towel.

Chlorine has natural blue-green eyes, but usually wears her violet contacts with her different hair styles or wigs. She looks amazing all natural, on her face, but rarely wears it that way. She has been known to spend more time on herself than her writing ideas. She rather shop until she notice that too many other muses are making weak situations and characters. Then she adds her two cents.

Emma has brown eyes and jet black hair. She loves the smoky look for her eyes or extreme make up.  She loves her high fashion, and she likes when her characters are rich enough to look good or she even make them steal to look good. She loves to be serve and gossip, so she is always in drama.

Mary has dyed her hair black-blue which looks well with her pale skin and green eyes. She wear gothic make up, not white, but highlighting her eyes in black, and a purple lipstick. She think being gothic that it’s like facing her fears.  She is short just barely 5ft mostly 4’11” so her leather trench coat is even longer on her.

Luna is also short at 5’2” but she is cute with chin length red hair and green eyes. She wear thick black sparkling glasses. She has freckles and looks as if she is in her teens. She is the youngest muse, but still over age 21. She is slightly chubby but loves to wear jeans, and her tee shirts with crazy sayings. Like “Don’t go to be angry, stay up and plot revenge.”

Sandy has sandy hair and teal eyes. She only has a natural look whether she has make up or not. She loves to wear summer dresses.  She hates to work out, but she knows it the only way she looks so good in the summer dresses. She is my romantic girl.

Kelly is then with crystal blue eyes and beach blonde hair. She has bleached teeth so her teeth look whiter with her red lipsticks. She rarely eats, because she secretly believes she is fat.  Rebekah sneaks vitamins in her coffee to keep her going. She wears low cut jeans or skirts and shirts that always show her belly button ring.  She does not wear underwear.

(Zoe had dark blue eyes and black hair. She had a swimmer’s body. She would swimming naked and did nudge yoga. She didn’t wear clothes unless she had too and when she did she loved robes . . . in which she would only tie loosely.)

Starre has mood changing eyes . . . they are hazel with specks of blue. It depends on what she wore to be what color they would be. She knew if she wore white eye shadow she would make her eye shine blue.  She loves to wear lingerie without undies. She loves being a tease as much as she loved writing about sex.

It’s like the movie “ Inside Out” I made characters for each of my personalities/ muses.

My perfect office

I’ve been day dreaming alot. I’ve been thinking what my perfect office would look like.

The back wall with the walk will be my homemade both corners desk.  With holders for my water and coffee, so I don’t spill.
I will have file cabinets underneath and to the sides.

I would have to have a super comfy computer chair.
I will have a futon on one wall with a rug, and a 30″ flat screen on the opposite wall.

Either my room painted purple or purple abstract art on it.

Behind sigh.

I need to be up 18k to get caught up, but I am just over 14.5k.

Between, errands and my health . . . this is driving me crazy.

There is not enough coffee and flavored creamer or Pepsi in this world to keep me awake and motivated.

Grrrrrr.

Gotta go back to writing.

It is very weird though, the more I am writing and facing my past, the more I am seeing things I was blind to. . . Was I was blind because I loved the guy or was it just that native?

A Personal Note

I am going to a Therapist. . . I have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety.

I usually write in misery; it helps with conflict. However there are times where my depression is so bad I have to fight with it to just get out bed. . . so getting discipline and motivation to write are sometimes near impossible to me.

I feel currently I am in a Sonic The Hedgehog game, “the casino level” where I am stuck in a valley of the bouncy wedges. You try to get out, but you bounce right back in the damn valley.
I feel like that now. . . I help out, something goes good, I help some more, something gets screwed up and I am back in the damn valley. Grrrrr.
It’s hard to write when I feel personally stuck.

A lot has gone on within the last six months. I will post more about that on my personal site. http://beckyms1213blog.wordpress.com

However I am here because I am struggling, but I count each word, each sentence, and each page full of words a victory.
I really wish I could just write without this damn gray cloud over my head.
I just really feel discouraged. I want to feel productive, but I just feel like an empty drone in everyone’s way. I feel like my pen’s ink will dry up while I untangle my thoughts.
I hope my characters are not suffering like I am.

I appreciate the inspiration and motivation where I can get it.

Going on in March

I am very happy that many people are liking my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/Rebekahquinne
and liking this blog. . .

I hope to post a few pieces this weekend.

What is going on. . .

  • I have been helping friends with babysitting and remodeling their house when I am not writing.
  • I’m also very addicted to coffee.
  • However now I am working not one but two projects. They are quite the opposite in style. I would call one an erotic thriller, and the other a bloody epic tale.
  • I also am trying to discipline myself to make sure I write something everyday and get to post on this blog at least once a week.
  • I’m also trying to read and research more.
  • I have been and I still am working on recovering from some personal issues. It’s been a rough six months. I hope to write a story or two from it.

I’m giving myself daily goals. . .

  1. Excerise daily (whether it’s you tube or just a walk)
  2. Write something everyday
  3. Read something everyday
  4. Eat better

People Series: Non-Supporters: Non-wr

3. Non-writers

They are those who don’t usually read or write very much unless they have too. They avoid it like a plague, and they have no idea why writers and readers enjoy it so much.

They don’t understand why you are writing so much. . . the list is really endless. . .

  • Therapy
  • Enjoyment
  • You love to tell a good story
  • You feel connected to your character
  • You have a talent for words
  • Expression
  • You feel you need to write as much as you need to breath
  • The list goes on

They feel writers sometimes make no sense and are in a book or the computer way too long. It’s like an artist trying to explain a Picasso painting to a chest player who only see logical strategies and numbers.

A writer sees the world in a different way than those non-writers. They see the world as a story to be told or idea to be expressed. They are an artist with words as their paint.

Not all Non-writers, are non-supporters, but some just cannot relate. I have been asked “How can you sit the computer so long?” or “You really just wrote 2,500 words in the last three hours, how?”

I can sit at my computer and type and write and read like a video gamer can sit in from the TV or computer screen and play for hours at a time.

What gets me when is when a non-supporters: non-writer is completely against writing/reading.

The ones that put me down: with gut-punching quotes. . .

  • “You write or read too much.”
  • “It’s not steady or stable.”
  • “You are NOT out doing something. . .”
  • “You are wasting time on the computer.”
  • “Why aren’t you living your life?”
  • “Have you gotten a REAL job yet?”
  • “Why are you ignoring everyone?”
  • “You really think you are going to make a lot of money doing that?”

They kind of mix in with questioners.

Remember a novel does NOT get finished in one night. It takes time and dedication. It’s a lot of work to write, edit, rewrite, and edit. . . that is even before getting it in a publisher’s hands.

Most writer’s do NOT make millions and do NOT become super famous over night either. They should have some kind of support, because it hard to get out there.

People Series: Non-supporters: The Indifferent Busy People

1. The Indifferent Busy People

The one group of non-supporters that I don’t mind are those who are just indifferent: The indifferent, busy people. I have them in non-supporters, because they aren’t usually going to lift a finger or encourage you one way or another. (Key word: usually) I have met a few like this, but they are usually very busy. They usually work 60 plus hours a week or they have many hobbies or lots of friends/clients.

  • They don’t care what you are doing.
  • You have your thing, and they have their thing. Actually they are probably grateful that you are into your own thing so you can leave their thing alone.
  • They are busy with their life, and I think they expect you to busy with yours.
  • They are probably the people you meet through a friend of a friend of a friend or at some sponsored dinner party.

However, keep in mind, they may be the type to keep in touch with as they will be the type to have the greatest network of connections.

Personally, I admire their work ethic and determination. They are very focus, and it’s very inspiring.
